Battle of the Diners
Organized by Creative Impact, this cricket tournament was a unique battle between top-notch teams owned by Indian restaurants in Hong Kong. Box cricket or indoor cricket is a variant of cricket that shares many basic concepts with the original game, but with added enhancements. It not only improves the engagement between the players and the audience, but it also adds to the enjoyment.
The event took place at The United Services Recreation Club, in Jordan on the 10th of August. The concept was to bring all the restaurateurs together to host a Box Cricket League. Each restaurant picked their own teams through a lucky draw method, and these teams competed against each other for the winning title of BATTLE OF THE DINERS (BOD), supported (sponsored) by Mrs. Purviz R. Shroff,
MH & Late Mr. Rusy M. Shroff, BBS, MBE.
Winner:
Tung Chung Cricket Club (Curry Leaf)
Tung Chung Cricket Club was one of the favorites from the beginning and they truly lived up to their legacy and outperformed their rivals in all areas as they claimed their victory. Vivek Shah from the team bagged the award for the most valuable player.
Semi-finalists team Tung Chung Night Cricket gave a tough fight and went home in second place. Ms. Tina Sekharan was present all throughout to cheer and support her team. Chief Guest of the evening Mrs. Purviz R. Shroff, MH and Mrs. Ranoo Wasan graced the award ceremony with their kind presence. Guest of Honor Mr. Kuldeep S. Buttar was also present all throughout to support his team – Tung Chung Cricket Club.
With the tremendous support of all the restaurateurs, Mr. Kuldeep S. Buttar (Curry Leaf), Ms. Tina Sekharan (Cardamon Street), Mr. Terry Abassi (Jashan), Mrs. & Mr. Geet & Sushil Jadhwani (Kailash Parbat HK), Mr. Harjit Singh (Spice Restaurant & Bar), Mr. Yasin (Sangeetha Vegetarian Restaurant), Mr. Jimmy Gill (Curry & Kabab Hut), Mr. Vasu Lalwani & Mr. Harry Bisht (Naanza Bar + Kitchen) this event was successful in every way possible way.
