[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This exhibition served as a platform for artists from Hong Kong, India and China. Titled Tranquillity of Mind, it showcased Hong Kong based Indian artist, Kashmira Doshi’s Mandala Art Series that fit in perfectly with the theme.
Mandalas are at the core of Buddhist philosophy where everything is a reflection of our mind. They have a prominent place in Indian culture and in her attempt to represent Indian artists, Ms. Doshi chose Mandalas. The vibrancy of colours and design patterns that she has employed in her creations are a distillation of the Indian spirit and ethos.
Her pieces titled Shield, Serendipity, Expanse, Harmony, Holly In A Frame, Festive Festoons, Joy To The World, Grace and Glory reflect the artist’s state of mind when she created them. Festive festoons, the show stopper, is a riot of colours on canvas. It’s intricate, almost bridal decoration and the eclectic fusion of varied Indian cultures makes it the pièce de resistance of Ms. Doshi’s collection.
