How challenging was it to start an event management company as partners?
It wasn’t challenging, it was the obvious step to take in fact Harry encouraged to open a business up together. What was challenging that, being pioneers in the Indian market as an event management company, many couldn’t understand the concept of having an Event Planner onboard and the scope of work involved, until now also people don’t realize sometimes what do we bring to the table.

The concept of “Head and Heart” is incredible. Whose brainchild can we tag this statement as?
Having a creative mindset, anything which is the usual or the norm just doesn’t cut it with me. We were revamping the website and I wanted the titles to reflect who we are, 5 AM in the morning the idea struck and I started typing away. The best ideas always come to me post 2 AM in the quiet of the night where its just me, myself & I.

To Harry, Define yourself as an entrepreneur in one sentence?
“If you don’t like something, don’t do it. And if you are doing something, then you better like it.” – Shah Rukh Khan. My biggest Inspiration.

When it comes to working as partners, is it more of a challenge or cooperative environment which is generally seen at work?
It was initially challenging until we got to tune into each other’s rhythm at work too. Now there’s a system in place where we handle our respective departments and delegate accordingly to our team. We don’t interfere, yet we are aware of what’s going on.

What is one thing which Rani brings for the company?
She’s the lucky charm of the company.

Our guru Ishan Shivanand has taught us that we need to constantly evolve and reinvent ourselves, as change is only constant. If we have to change, lets always change for the better.

The Dubai GWE forum had invited us and they had to pick 1 planner from Asia who could represent and have the ability to bring weddings to their destination, it felt amazing to be considered for
that amongst the 50 wedding experts.

What do you consider as your strength?
We bring quality into every aspect with a personal touch and attention to detail when we deal with our clients and we always have a big smile and are available 24/7 literally! Just like SRK we too can work on less sleep haha!

What makes you different from your competitors?
Our years of experience in this field which gives us the expertise to handle various kind of events & now even the qualification in Event Management. We have a professional setup and a great team who comes together to put it all into place. Most importantly, we handle everything you require under one roof.

Reliable

Working with brands and VVIPs must be tough. One event which was really a task to accomplish.
Hands down – “Dabangg The Tour”. Under the wings of Mr. Kishore Samtani who trusted us with such a mega project and managed to make it all happen within 4 months. It wouldn’t be possible without the support of a whole team of course.

“Rani or Harry” who is a better manager and why?
Harry any day! His calm and composed nature keep us grounded and his ability to think on his feet for solutions. He is the backbone of the company.

An event which raised a conflict between you two, how do you resolve it?
There’s no event which has caused any conflict, but yes we have difference of opinion many times while working on events which eventually resolves with coming to terms on middle ground and yes an Ice-cream fixes everyone’s mood.

How does it feel to be in the list of top 10 wedding planners in Asia?
It feels awesome when the work is recognized by the industry experts. We are truly honoured to get this position, still there’s lots more to be achieved. We were invited for the DWP Congress where they cherry pick planners from all over the world by invite only. The calibre of the planners there is top notch and world best. It feels surreal to be considered one of them as they are my inspiration and we hope to be THAT one day.

How do you deal with “Budget-Events”?
We treat all our clients equally and work around their budgets for them to be comfortable. We started with Budgeted events and went on to do bigger ones later. However, because of the bigger events we got more recognition yet I must tell you once I gave up going to Italy for a wedding conference because I already committed to doing a wedding of 40 people in attendance. That’s the kind of integrity we have for treating all our clients equally. Work is worship.

What is interesting “covering a big shot page3 event” why?
The Guests are more excited than the hosts sometimes. Why I guess because of the hype around the whole event.

Who takes the lead when it comes to decide the creative angle for the events?
Both of us!
Rani for the décor and Harry for the technical aspects such as audio visual experience.

Define the ideal wedding planning strategy in just 4 simple steps?
– First things first – choose a date.
– Work on estimated Guest list and choose a location/venue accordingly.
– You will be spending A LOT of time. with your planner, choose the one who gives you comfort and speaks on your behalf to get things done.
– Leave it to the pros, don’t try. micromanaging – in the end it’s always going to be great because you are surrounded by love.
