Mona Shroff, founder of Mona Shroff Jewellery, shares her trend and style forecast for the upcoming season. Shrow shows us that we can still be glam, even when working from home.
Women have adorned themselves with jewellery since the earliest of times; they are inseparable. It has also been a crucial part of what a women wants to represent or convey.
Jewellery has the ability to enhance a women’s beauty, and it’s often said that a good outfit is not great until accessorised!
AS FOR THE BIGGEST SPRING/SUMMER 2021 TRENDS?
The new work-from-home routine certainly had an effect on what designers were able to present in their collections. In the age of Zoom, waist-up dressing is having a moment, a boon for jewellery lovers alike, as with or without your mask, the main focal point is the face. Over the past year, during quarantine, wearing jewellery has become a way to dress up any look, even if you are just wearing sweatpants…or the same outfit five days in a row! I foresee that mentality will no doubt continue in 2021.
Colour is also a key focus for the upcoming season. Not only can it brighten your day, but also the individuals that work with you. When they see a pop of neon at the neck or the ear, it can impact your and their mood, and maybe even productivity!
As work-from-home continues this year, pearls, colourful earrings, necklaces and bracelets, are still the hot items. There are plenty of options for all tastes and moods. Even if you’re dressing for comfort, a strong chain will lift your look. While, neon earring can energise even the most lacklustre home confinement.
Meanwhile, the cuff makes a welcome return – whether worn on the wrist or high on the arm. Last but definitely not least, the earring – whether in a singular or double shoulder dusting form — it’s sure to lift our spirits this spring.
