Life is not always going to be a bed of roses. There will be constant challenges and moments to test you. Your dream job will not be handed to you on a silver platter. These are just some of the realities of life. However, this does not mean you are stuck in a bush of thorns, or suffering, and permanently jobless. To attain your goals, you need to put in the time and effort that’s required You cannot achieve what you want or get to where you want to go in life without making the commitment of your time and effort.
Keep on moving
If you want to change who you are, or change what you do, it’s not going to happen by staying where you are. You can’t just sit hoping the world around you will change so that your life can get better. The drive to bring about change must come from within. It entails moving out of
your comfort zone and trying new things. Find what really motivates you.
Motivation is the most difficult thing to find in life, even harder than finding your passion. There is a story in Greek mythology of Sisyphus, who was stuck in a hole and condemned to roll a boulder up a steep hill every day. Every night, the boulder rolled back down. Sisyphus never escaped this cycle. The question is, will you? How will you get your boulder to the top of the mountain?
Find out what motivates you and gives you the power to push yourself through the struggles and make it to the top. It’s just a matter of finding the right combination of drive and inspiration. And once you do that, anything is possible.
Passion will get you everywhere
No matter what you want to do in life, find something you are passionate about. The more passion you have for what you do, the more you will want to push the envelope.
There are so many opportunities available to us today, to find and explore where our passions lie. Doing something that we are excited about, that energizes us is what life is about. We are all born champions, born for greatness if we can harness this energy and use it in what we do. Being successful isn’t just about reaching a particular goal. It’s about going beyond that goal and making what you do worthwhile.
This is not an overnight process, and it is not an easy one. Nobody ever won a marathon by standing still. They did so by pacing themselves,
mile after mile, hour after hour. But, if you put in the effort, and you continue to work hard, you will reach the finish line. You will feel relieved and accomplished, and then you will think to yourself, “What’s next?”
How I find my Inspiration
I credit some of the best advice for motivating myself to Steve Jobs, who famously said, “Stay hungry, stay foolish.”
First, in terms of staying hungry, he means you always have to be looking ahead. In this respect, there is no end goal in mind. Because if you have an end goal, at some point when you have achieved it, you are going to wonder what comes next? And you may not have an answer. Always have something to strive for and something to look forward to.
The second part says to “stay foolish”. Many of the successful people you meet today would not have been able to achieve what they have if they didn’t follow the crazy ideas they had. It is okay to think outside the box because you don’t know what’s out there. Nobody does. Maybe you will discover new ground-breaking technology or a way to solve a major crisis like world hunger. If you’re not foolish enough to think you can do those things, you can’t be an innovator. An innovator stays open to all kinds of ideas and believes in the possibility of the unbelievable. As they say, there is no such thing as a stupid question or a stupid idea.
If you’re not foolish enough to think you can do those things, you can’t be an innovator. An innovator stays open to all kinds of ideas and believes in the possibility of the unbelievable.
