The incredible initiative;
Yogathon
An initiative named “Yogathon” was launched to create awareness about yoga and bringing the values of this ancient science in our lives by practicing it . The entire project was based to create awareness along with raising funds for the needy as the initial money raised was attached to the project named “Gift a Smile”.

The event challenged the participants to complete 108 Sun Salutations and raised funds for “Gift a Smile” Project, which provides free education to the underprivileged children in India. It is an innovative school and service program for children and their communities in rural India that is committed to making holistic education accessible to children in rural areas. With over 435 schools in rural and remote areas they help underprivileged students by providing free value-based, holistic education to over 58,000 students.

Yogathon – 108 Sun Salutation is the largest single-day, volunteer-led yoga event around the world in support of education. More than 100 people gathered on 17th June, 2018 from 9 am – 12 noon at Henry G Leong Yau Ma Tei Community Hall and participated in the event with incredible enthusiasm making the yoga challenge into a true celebration of life and humanity.

Donations will help children such as Ridalin – an orphaned child who attended ‘Gift a Smile’ school in Meghalaya. In an environment where selling children for labor was a common practice, she went on to represent Karnataka for taekwondo at the National level and is now an aspiring architect aiming to redevelop her hometown.

The Yogathon fundraiser could not have been a success without the support of a caring community and people who feel for a cause. We thank all our generous sponsors, supporters and  participants for making this event such a massive success.
