[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Kamagatamaru Hockey Tournament was first started in the year 2009 by the Punjab Youth Club in Hong Kong. In honor of Baba Gurdit Singh, who was a part of many movements during India’s fight for Independence from the British, this tournament is held every year in October.
This October, marking its tenth year, the tournament had 16 teams participating. Apart from the five girl teams, and the 11 boy teams playing, the event also showcased cultural performances. Amongst the boy’s teams, in the under 16 category team Khalsa came in first, and in the under 21 category team HKFC came in first place. The HKFC girls’ team were declared winners as well. Prizes were distributed to the winning
teams by Mrs. Deepika Mishra, the Indian Consul General who was the chief guest for the event.
