Indian clothing trends this season

Indian fashion is not only loved by our celebrities back home, but it is also loved and admired around the world. Fashion designers around the
world have mirrored Indian wear on international runways, and stars such as Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Deepika
Padukone have chosen to wear Indian designers on international platforms as well. Indian craftsmanship is exquisite and our designers
have truly lifted Indian wear in circles beyond our own country.

Here are some of the trends to invest in this season to get that complete ethnic vibe going and to truly feel Indian at heart, no matter where you live.

Churidars are evergreen

No Punjabi kudi will deny the fact that a churidar with a kameez is her first love. No matter how trends change, this subtle and classic piece always stays close to your heart. Try different pastel hues this season.

The Sari is here to stay

The Sari is known for being many things such as elegant, traditional, versatile and even fashionable. Popular now in all age groups, you will see more girls and women opting for saris for formal wear. The modern sari is worn with not just with your traditional blouse, but can also be paired with crop tops, high neck shirts, and peplum tops.

Wide pants and palazzos

Palazzos haven’t just brought the 90’s back, but have overtaken the ever-popular blue jeans as the most comfortable bottom-wear. These wide pants don’t only look good but also are incredibly versatile. You can team them up with long kurtas if you wish to go the traditional way or with crop tops if you are inclined towards the western look.

Ghararas and shararas

Dating back to the Mughal era, ghararas and shararas have only gained popularity over the years. These styles are beautifully embellished with intricate zari, thread work, sequins, stones, and beads. Comfortable and trendy, pair them with coordinated juttis.

Return of Khadi

Back with a bang thanks to big names like Rohit Bal, Abraham & Thakore, and Bhaane. Khadi has been reinvented and reintroduced. Known as the national fabric of India, its comeback has been very successful in the Indian and international markets.

Belt it your way

Traditionally western, not Indian, belts have incorporated themselves into our tradition as well. They can be used to drape your dupatta or tuck your sari. There are beautiful designs available with embroidery and embellishments adding that extra zing to any outfit.

With all the options and different ways of styling, getting the right look for this season is easy. Have fun, experiment with patterns, textures, and colors. Whether you want to be elaborate or minimalistic, there are many styles you can choose from. Complete your look with a perfect pair of jhumkis and a bindi or a fancy pair of shoes. Our Indian heritage has so much to offer, you are bound to make an impact no matter what you wear.
